Crop it the right way

photo-1

Crop tops have been everywhere this season, from the runways at Jill Stuart and Michael Kors to the city streets. When styled right, the crop top is sexy, chic, and sophisticated all at the same time. It looks fabulous but it’s hard to pull off.

If hearing the word crop top conjures up scary images of belly-baring ‘90s pop stars, you’re not alone. Pulling off a crop top isn’t as intimidating as it seems. Some people think that they should be reserved for when you’re going clubbing but they’re not.. Crop tops aren’t reserved for skinny girlies you just have to work with lengths and make it work on your body.

I have 5 tips for you to keep in mind while styling a crop top.
1-Cover up: If you’re not so comfortable with showing off too much skin layer with a jacket which will only show a hind of skin in the front.
2-Style it with a pencil top: A way to pull off a crop top perfectly is to style it with a bottom more on the conservative side.
3-Play with proportions: Wearing a crop top is all about proportion play. While wearing an its bitsy top with a high rise bottom the look will definitely be ladylike.
4-Layer up: If it’s chillier and you don’t want to show off any skin try pairing a cropped sweater and a crisp button-down shirt under. This is a look that can be pulled off by pretty much anyone.
5-Box it off: If wearing a boxy cropped sweater might feel less scary than a tight crop top, go for it there’s a ton of styles you can try on this season.
