Treat your denim right

Okay so you haven’t figured it out yet I’ll just say it, I’m obsessed with denim. Buying the perfect pair of jeans may be a big investment but what you need to know is how to take care of these precious jeans. If you want to prolong the life of your jeans and break them in successfully I have 5 tips for you that will keep that pair looking killer for many many years.

1- Raw denim (the super stiff jeans with no wash that don’t fade) take up to six months to break in and you shouldn’t wash them until then because you’ll loose the shape.
2- Most jeans today don’t actually need to be broken in and are already washed to achieve a faded look. You can wash them often but only when they start to sag or are stained.
3- If you want to prevent fading wash jeans inside out in cold water on the delicate cycle but if you want them to fade wash them in hot water.
4- You know that smell that comes with wear? To remove simply hang your jeans in the bathroom before taking a shower or freeze them in a plastic pastil bag for 2 days.
5- To fold jeans like a pro simply lay a pair on a flat surface, fold in half from left to right. Grab the stacked jean legs and fold them in half so the hem of the jeans lines up with the waistband. Fold the jeans in half one more time.

Quote of the day: “I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity” -Yves Saint Lauren
